Good day to all fellow bloggers and lovers and of books!

Today is the day, the day we launch our new meme. A meme that will help help us get through our TBR piles - that independently-growing list that continually grows as we acquire books throughout the course of our literary lives. There you are happily chomping along getting books here and there, saying Oohh, I'll read this later. But another load of books distracted us and the initial batch of books has been relegated to THE pile. And before you knew it the molehill became a mountain.

Now, because you love to read all the books but you don't know which one to pick so it's been put back, back... back.  I know we all have that problem - most of us anyway.

When I put up this question in one of my comments in someone's blog sometime ago, I never thought that someone would get the crazy idea to start a meme.

And here we are... so to my partners-in-crime, equally guilty of having mountains, cheers to you!

TBR Intervention is a weekly challenge hosted by  April @ Books4Juliet, Dani @ Refracted Light and Ayanami @ Whatever You Can Still Betray

The goal of this challenge is to help each other (fellow readers and bloggers) manage our enormous and constantly growing TBR (To-Be-Read) List. The rules are simple and everyone is encouraged to participate. It does not force you to commit to more than what you can manage to read in a week or so, but participants are encouraged to read at least one book within a week. You are free to choose the book you want to read and commit to this challenge. You may post your entry every Saturday, at the frequency of your choice--EVERY WEEK or EVERY TWO WEEKS. However, we will sponsor this event regularly every Saturday.

Here are the rules:

1. Post the book(s) you committed to read in your last TBR Intervention post and tell us something about it. Did you finish it? Did you enjoy it or not? Post the link to your review (if you have one).

2. Post a book that you want to read and already own. Pick something that has been sitting on your shelf for too long now (6 months or longer). Commit to read the book in the next couple of days or week.

3. Grab the TBR Intervention Button and post it on your blog sidebar so you will be constantly reminded of the challenge, making it easier for you to commit. This will also encourage other readers/bloggers/visitors to join the challenge.

4. Add the link to your post in the Linky below, grab the button and make sure to visit the other blogs. Comment, encourage, and spread the love to our fellow readers.

My first TBRIC book is:

Mistwood
by Leah Cypess
in my pile since: August 15, 2010

Synopsis from Goodreads:

The Shifter is an immortal creature bound by an ancient spell to protect the kings of Samorna. When the realm is peaceful, she retreats to the Mistwood. But when she is needed she always comes.
Isabel remembers nothing. Nothing before the prince rode into her forest to take her back to the castle. Nothing about who she is supposed to be, or the powers she is supposed to have.
Prince Rokan needs Isabel to be his Shifter. He needs her ability to shift to animal form, to wind, to mist. He needs her lethal speed and superhuman strength. And he needs her loyalty—because without it, she may be his greatest threat.
Isabel knows that her prince is lying to her, but she can't help wanting to protect him from the dangers and intrigues of the court... until a deadly truth shatters the bond between them.
Now Isabel faces a choice that threatens her loyalty, her heart... and everything she thought she knew.

Gosh! It's been a year or so since I picked up Mistwood to read. And I've already seen this book in sales. Mind is nagging me to read it to know if all Prince Rokan wants from Isabel is her ability... will they fall in love?

  4. I've been eyeing this book too. Almost bought it a couple times for a steal at Borders insane sales, but always put in back before actually reaching the register. Curious to see what you think of it. Good luck this week! :)
