Author Interview
Describe your books in five words or less:
Mortal girl in invincible world
Where did the idea for the books come from? Your inspiration?
I wondered what the world would look like if people couldn’t be hurt or killed – would we lose as much as we gained?
Tell us a little bit about the characters and their quirks.
Ava Holland’s dream is to be selected for the best dance academy in Evereach – that’s after she gets through Implosion, the ceremony where each nation proves that its children can’t die. Michael Bradley is the fastest healer anyone’s ever seen and undefeated at the Terminal, the place where teens fight and die for fun on weekends. Their worlds collide on the night of Implosion.
What was your favorite scene to write?
My favorite scene to write was the one where Ava dances in the park. Despite everything that’s happened, she’s true to herself.
What would you like readers to take from your story?
That it’s okay to be different.
Where do things go in the next book?
Ava and Michael find out how precarious the balance of world peace has become.
Thanks so much for having me here today!

In a world where people are invulnerable to illness and death, with lives spanning hundreds of years, a sixteen-year-old becomes witness to the impossible – her brother’s failure to regenerate after death after which she suspects that she too may be mortal.
Everly Frost wrote her first story when she was nine. She grew up in a country town, lived for a little while in Japan, and worked for several years in Canberra, Australia's capital city. Now, Everly lives in Brisbane, Australia, with her husband and two children. She doesn't speak Japanese so often anymore, has left the cold Canberra winters behind, but has never stopped writing.
