TBR Intervention is a weekly challenge hosted by  April @ Books4Juliet, Dani @ Refracted Light and Ayanami @ Whatever You Can Still Betray

The goal of this challenge is to help each other (fellow readers and bloggers) manage our enormous and constantly growing TBR (To-Be-Read) List. The rules are simple and everyone is encouraged to participate. It does not force you to commit to more than what you can manage to read in a week or so, but participants are encouraged to read at least one book within a week. You are free to choose the book you want to read and commit to this challenge. You may post your entry every Saturday, at the frequency of your choice--EVERY WEEK or EVERY TWO WEEKS. However, we will sponsor this event regularly every Saturday.

Here are the rules:
1. Post the book(s) you committed to read in your last TBR Intervention post and tell us something about it. Did you finish it? Did you enjoy it or not? Post the link to your review (if you have one).
2. Post a book that you want to read and already own. Pick something that has been sitting on your shelf for too long now (6 months or longer). Commit to read the book in the next couple of days or week.
3. Grab the TBR Intervention Button and post it on your blog sidebar so you will be constantly reminded of the challenge, making it easier for you to commit. This will also encourage other readers/bloggers/visitors to join the challenge.
4. Add the link to your post in the Linky below, grab the button and make sure to visit the other blogs. Comment, encourage, and spread the love to our fellow readers.

THE BOOK I COMMITTED TO READ:
A Touch Mortal
by Leah Clifford
in my pile since March 2011

Right. I don't favor this book very much. It was one heck of a confusing start since I  didn't understand what was going on.  Bit and pieces about what was going on were thrown in but it was just a 'mish-mash-hey-here's-another-bit-to-chew-on'. Hmph. I won't post a review for this but I give it a two-out-of-five-apples though for Az and Gabriel.

THE BOOK I COMMIT TO READ THIS WEEK:
Clarity
by Kim Harrington
in my pile since March 2011

Synopsis from Goodreads:

When you can see things others can't, where do you look for the truth? This paranormal murder mystery will have teens reading on the edge of their seats. Clarity "Clare" Fern sees things. Things no one else can see. Things like stolen kisses and long-buried secrets. All she has to do is touch a certain object, and the visions come to her. It's a gift. And a curse. When a teenage girl is found murdered, Clare's ex-boyfriend wants her to help solve the case - but Clare is still furious at the cheating jerk. Then Clare's brother - who has supernatural gifts of his own - becomes the prime suspect, and Clare can no longer look away. Teaming up with Gabriel, the smoldering son of the new detective, Clare must venture into the depths of fear, revenge, and lust in order to track the killer. But will her sight fail her just when she needs it most?

When the cover (which is a bad case of too much air-brushing) does not do it for me then the blurb will. I have always loved puzzles, mysteries, riddles anything that needs to be solved.  You can tell it from all the Mystery Case Files I played, the TV series I watched, the number of times I go to the Ravenclaws of Pottermore sites just to solve the riddles, and the number of Nancy Drew books I own.

Therefore, it is no surprise that I have been drawn to Clarity. The only question is that why I did not read it right away when I profess to love mysteries.  The answer is a riddle itself... or perhaps not depending on the angle you want to see it.

  8. Haha... I do like Clarity's cover. It's... very different from what we're currently seeing in the genre!

Anyway, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your challenge this week. It sucks, when you go into a book and it doesn't work for you... I hope you'll have better luck this time!

    Happy reading!
