TBR Intervention is a weekly challenge hosted by  April @ Books4Juliet, Dani @ Refracted Light and Ayanami @ Whatever You Can Still Betray

The goal of this challenge is to help each other (fellow readers and bloggers) manage our enormous and constantly growing TBR (To-Be-Read) List. The rules are simple and everyone is encouraged to participate. It does not force you to commit to more than what you can manage to read in a week or so, but participants are encouraged to read at least one book within a week. You are free to choose the book you want to read and commit to this challenge. You may post your entry every Saturday, at the frequency of your choice--EVERY WEEK or EVERY TWO WEEKS. However, we will sponsor this event regularly every Saturday.

Here are the rules:
1. Post the book(s) you committed to read in your last TBR Intervention post and tell us something about it. Did you finish it? Did you enjoy it or not? Post the link to your review (if you have one).
2. Post a book that you want to read and already own. Pick something that has been sitting on your shelf for too long now (6 months or longer). Commit to read the book in the next couple of days or week.
3. Grab the TBR Intervention Button and post it on your blog sidebar so you will be constantly reminded of the challenge, making it easier for you to commit. This will also encourage other readers/bloggers/visitors to join the challenge.
4. Add the link to your post in the Linky below, grab the button and make sure to visit the other blogs. Comment, encourage, and spread the love to our fellow readers.

THE BOOK I COMMITTED TO READ:

Wither
by Lauren DeStefano
in my pile since April 2011

I am not yet finished with reading this. It's a new semester and I am trying to figure out my new schedule (and coursework) so that I could space out the things that are needed to be done, things I want to do, and leave time for my reading. Yeah. Excuses, excuses. But I will finish this! I will!

But I will have another book that I would commit to read this coming week:

THE BOOK I COMMIT TO READ THIS WEEK:
Once Dead, Twice Shy
by Kim Harrison
in my pile since November 2009

Synopsis from Goodreads:

My name is Madison Avery, and I'm here to tell you that there's more out there than you can see, hear, or touch. Because I'm there. Seeing it. Touching it. Living it.
Madison's prom was killer—literally. For some reason she's been targeted by a dark reaper—yeah, that kind of reaper—intent on getting rid of her, body and soul. But before the reaper could finish the job, Madison was able to snag his strange, glowing amulet and get away. Now she's stuck on Earth—dead but not gone. Somehow the amulet gives her the illusion of a body, allowing her to toe the line between life and death. She still doesn't know why the dark reaper is after her, but she's not about to just sit around and let fate take its course. With a little ingenuity, some light-bending, and the help of a light reaper (one of the good guys! Maybe . . . ), her cute crush, and oh yeah, her guardian angel, Madison's ready to take control of her own destiny once and for all, before ittakes control of her.Well, if she believed in that stuff.

*jaw drops* Oh dear... *feels bad* Two years... two years. Isn't that a reason enough to read this?  Alright, alright.  I got this book because it's intriguing - dead but not dead. Whut? Makes no sense, of course, but my curiosity stemmed from that confusion.

P.S.
Note to self: Don't be ambitious about the amount of books you can read in a period of time. Go with the flow. *snickers*

  1. I hope you can finish Wither, soon.
And good luck with Madisson Avery, I read about her in Prom nights from hell, and it's a interesting story.

    Have a nice weekend!

  2. Well, don't give up on Wither! You're nearly there!

Still, I have to admit that Once Dead, Twice Shy does sound more interesting... Might be because I like the Reaper concept, and the idea of trying to get back her destiny in that dead-no-quite situation of her.

Good luck, and happy reading week!
