The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

Today's Feature & Follow Friday question is:

Is there a book that you were required to read in school that you actually loved?

State of War by Ninotchka Rosca

This was in one of my required English courses in college. Our teacher was sort of a terror teacher, very strict, no nonsense type. We were all so nervous. I think this was our last reading assignment and we were required to read it, internalize it and then report about characters, development, plot and sundry. I never relished reading school books because they are required. I don't want to be forced to read.

But in this case, I'm glad I was forced to read and I ended up loving it. Even though it was fiction, I gained a new perspective in viewing (lol) my country's history.

  2. I don't like very much to read school books, because as you said are required, its seams to me that all of those books were not good enough, but I was pleasantly surprised few times.
