Book bloggers unable to attend the BEA Bloggers Conference or Book Expo America (BEA) in New York City, but would like to ‘meet’ other book bloggers and publishers to discuss books and book blogging can participate in this virtual event.
Blogging 101

I have been blogging for close to five years now and although, you might think that I am a seasoned, very experienced blogger, then you've got it all wrong. As most of us, book bloggers, I started this blog because I want to share my love of books, discover more authors and their  books and connect with other readers and bloggers from around the world. It's not easy being the only book-obsessed person in the house or in your circle of friends. Oh, they are readers but... yeah.
Anyhow, here are some fundamental tenets I've learned over the past five years of blogging.
  • Network. Network. Network.
  • Do not underestimate the power of social media...
  • ...however! Respect other bloggers.
  • Constructive criticism is not the same as flaming.
  • Respect authors and publishers.
  • Do not concern yourself much with your number of followers.
  • Be yourself. What may work for others, may not work for you.
  • You CAN talk about things other than books.
  • Have fun. Make your blog colorful. Put a dancing llama.

What's the most memorable thing that happened to you while as a reader/blogger?

  1. Great blogging advice. I've totally missed the dancing llama boat, sadly. Must remedy that soon.
