THE BOOKS I COMMITTED TO READ:

I finally read Anna and the French Kiss and I must say that it earned its stars and recommendations from all of you. I loved it! You can now add my name to the list who's head over heels for Étienne St. Clair. Do you think I should move on to read Lola and the Boy Next Door?
I'll be tackling a time travel book again this week and that would be Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier which was translated by Anthea Bell. I've had this book since November last year so it definitely qualifies.Gwyneth Shepherd's sophisticated, beautiful cousin Charlotte has been prepared her entire life for traveling through time. But unexpectedly, it is Gwyneth, who in the middle of class takes a sudden spin to a different era!
Gwyneth must now unearth the mystery of why her mother would lie about her birth date to ward off suspicion about her ability, brush up on her history, and work with Gideon--the time traveler from a similarly gifted family that passes the gene through its male line, and whose presence becomes, in time, less insufferable and more essential. Together, Gwyneth and Gideon journey through time to discover who, in the 18th century and in contemporary London, they can trust.

Glad you enjoyed A&tFK, but I'm sorry the other two books fell into the DNF category :/
ReplyDeleteI hope you are able to finish The Pledge and that you enjoy Ruby Red! :)
