TBR Intervention is a weekly challenge hosted by April @ Books4Juliet, Dani @ Refracted Light and Ayanami @ Whatever You Can Still Betray
The goal of this challenge is to help each other (fellow readers and bloggers) manage our enormous and constantly growing TBR (To-Be-Read) List. The rules are simple and everyone is encouraged to participate. It does not force you to commit to more than what you can manage to read in a week or so, but participants are encouraged to read at least one book within a week. You are free to choose the book you want to read and commit to this challenge. You may post your entry every Saturday, at the frequency of your choice--EVERY WEEK or EVERY TWO WEEKS. However, we will sponsor this event regularly every Saturday.
Here are the rules:
1. Post the book(s) you committed to read in your last TBR Intervention post and tell us something about it. Did you finishit? Did you enjoy it or not? Post the link to your review (if you have one).
2. Post a book that you want to read and already own. Pick something that has been sitting on your shelf for too long now (6 months or longer). Commit to read the book in the next couple of days or week.
3. Grab the TBR Intervention Button and post it on your blog sidebar so you will be constantly reminded of the challenge, making it easier for you to commit. This will also encourage other readers/bloggers/visitors to join the challenge.
4. Add the link to your post in the Linky below, grab the button and make sure to visit the other blogs. Comment, encourage, and spread the love to our fellow readers.

THE BOOK I COMMITTED TO READ:
Once Dead, Twice Shy
by Kim Harrison
in my pile since November 2009
I did not finish this book - deliberately. At first I was glad that the action started right away but as the story steadily progressed, I got bored with it. I shut the book close about a third into it, set it aside and proceeded to conjugate Japanese verbs. Maybe it was the mood I was in. I do not know. There may come a time in the future that I might pick this up again. For now, it will remain there in the corner.
And oh yeah! I finished Wither and it was awesome! My review is here.
THE BOOK I COMMIT TO READ THIS WEEK:
A Touch Mortal
by Leah Clifford
in my pile since March 2011
Synopsis from Goodreads:
Fallen angels. That is all.

THE BOOK I COMMIT TO READ THIS WEEK:
A Touch Mortal
by Leah Clifford
in my pile since March 2011
Synopsis from Goodreads:
Eden didn’t expect Az.---
Not his saunter down the beach toward her. Not his unbelievable pick up line. Not the instant, undeniable connection. And not his wings.
Yeah.
So long happily-ever-after.
Now trapped between life and death, cursed to spread chaos with her every touch, Eden could be the key in the eternal struggle between heaven and hell. All because she gave her heart to one of the Fallen, an angel cast out of heaven.
She may lose everything she ever had. She may be betrayed by those she loves most. But Eden will not be a pawn in anyone else’s game. Her heart is her own.
And that’s only the beginning of the end.
Fallen angels. That is all.
I have wondered about Once Dead, Twice Shy. Now I won't wonder so much. LOL!

Wow! I liked Madisson Avery in Prom Nights from hell, but I think you have reason and it can be boring!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the other book!
Ok...Once Dead, Twice Shy will probably stay safely off my TBR. And fallen angels. lol Good luck on A Touch Mortal this week! :)
ReplyDeleteOnce Dead, Twice Shy won't be added to my TBR, then!
ReplyDeleteStill, I must say that I understand the appel of conjugating Japanese verbs. I do it all the time (seriously, I'm not kidding). Then again, it might be because the 4th of December I'm taking the N3 Japanese Proficiency Level Test... *shudders* I'm so going to be toasted. What about you?
Ahem, yes, back to the books. I like the tone of the blurb in A Touch Mortal. I hope you'll enjoy it! Be waiting for your comments :)
Have a great weekend!

So often it is difficult for me to tell if it is the mood that I am in or if the book is just not for me. Sorry that Once Dead Twice Shy didn't work out for you. I haven't read it yet. Best of luck with this weeks goal.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting.
That has happened to me a lot. I then try to get back to it another time. Sometimes this works other times it gets put back to wait awhile longer. LOL. I think I have Once Dead on my TBR list. I may try it as a challenge - in the far future. LOL. This is my first week of participating. I have been in a HolidayFall mode. I am excited about this meme. I think it is awesome! Thanks for it. Good luck & happy reading!
ReplyDeleteOnce Dead, Twice Shy sounds very good. I like the cover a lot. I've seen this book many times, but I don't see many people feature or review this book. I'm glad you've feature it. Great choice! Thank you for sharing!
