I have decided to dedicate some Thursdays to covers of upcoming releases or covers of books that are already on the shelves that I happen to love.

We're taking a religious turn in this Thursday's edition of Cover Thursday. This cover is somewhat controversial and is prone to misinterpretation. But hear this, do not judge by its cover.

When I came upon this cover and read the title, I immediately recalled a Buddhist quote (correct me if I'm wrong) I heard a long time ago:
“Embrace nothing:
If you meet the Buddha, kill the Buddha.
If you meet your father, kill your father.
Only live your life as it is,
Not bound to anything.”
This was said by Gautama Siddharta, the founder of Buddhism. I personally have not read this book and I think this is not about Buddhism since it says there that it's a 'heretic's bible'. Now, don't you all get huffy, each and everyone of us is entitled to their beliefs.
This sounds like the type I'd enjoy. Hope it'll be at National this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI don't think National has it.
ReplyDeleteI try not to judge books by their covers either. I've seen some awesome covers that had a a so-so story and books with disappointing covers have amazing stories. You just never know!
