All is not lost! That's what reading challenges are for!
I set my goal to another hundred books this year. No, it won't include re-reads nor fanfiction. If I do include them, then total reads would reach 150-200 or so. I am going to make it so that I read books from the TBR pile from years past and books coming out this year.
Do I have books that I requested/accepted for review that I have forgotten to read AND review last year?

The answer is YES, I DO!

The solution to motivate me is this:

The Blogger Shame Review Challenge--cohosted by herding cats & burning soup and Addicted to Happily Ever After-- is all about dusting off all of those forgotten review books and making them happen!

Challenge Details

Challenge begins Jan 1, 2016 and ends Dec 31, 2016

  • The Wicked Awakening of Anne Merchant by Joanna Wiebe
  • As Long As You Love Me by Ann Aguirre
  • Dead Silent by Sharon Jones
  • Starcrossed by Brenda Hiatt
  • Catacombs by Devon Ashley
  • Isabella's Heiress by N.P. Griffiths
  • Gathering Deep by Lisa Maxwell

Books Already Read but Don't Have a Review Yet:
  • Keys of the Watchmen by Kathleen Perrin
  • Silent Circle by Cassandra Larsen
  • Phobic by Courtney Pearson
  • The Heir and the Spare by Emily Albright
  • Born of Shadow by Sarah Benson
I find this next challenge interesting because it would make me read something I wouldn't consider before or wanted to read but never got around to it.
This is the first annul Goodreads Awards Challenge hosted by Books of Amber

RULES
  • Choose one or more awards categories to conquer.
  • Within the categories, there are different tiers. Choose which one you’d like to aim for. You can change this at any time.
  • You don’t have to choose the same tier throughout multiple categories. For example, you could aim for Tier 1 (1-2 books) within Historical Fiction, and Tier 4 (9-10 books) for YA Fiction.
  • Some nominees are sequels. This isn’t a problem. If you haven’t started the series yet, then you can read the first book. If you are in the middle of a series, however, I suggest you get reading. If you quit the series and have no plans to continue, you can count the last book that you read.
  • DNFs count. I’m not going to force you to read anything you don’t want to. So tick that box!
TIERS
Tier 1: 1-2 books
Tier 2: 3-5 books
Tier 3: 6-8 books
Tier 4: 9-10 books
Bonus: Crackers Challenge (11+ books)

CRACKERS CHALLENGE
So you might be wondering what this is. WELL. Some of you might want to shoot for the stars and read more than ten books within a category. Meaning, you’d have to look past the finalists and read one or more nominees which didn’t make it to the final round. Good luck, you brave souls.

CATEGORIES
You can view the categories HERE.

As for me, I aim to read books from different categories of the Goodreads Awards:

YA Fiction
Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon
Dumplin' by Julie Murphy

Fiction
The Royal We by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan

Fantasy
A Darker Shade of Magic by Victoria Schwab
The Mime Order by Samantha Shannon (which means I have to read the first book)

Historical Fiction
Secrets of a Charmed life by Susan Meissner

YA Fantasy & Science Fiction
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
Uprooted by Naomi Novik
The Wrath & the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh
Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
I think those are reasonable lists of books. It's almost half my reading goal of a hundred books this year.

Tell me, what are the reading challenges you're joining this year?

  1. Good luck with all your challenges! I'm planning on reading 100 books this year too and I'm hoping to catch up on all my Netgalley books and then work on my personal TBR.
