Welcome to the TBR Intervention Challenge!
TBR Intervention is a weekly challenge hosted by  April @ Books4Juliet, Dani @ Refracted Light and Ayanami @ Whatever You Can Still Betray

For information on why and how it was started and information on how to participate, please visit the TBRIC page

THE BOOK I COMMITTED TO READ:

I finished Sputnik Sweetheart and I was really weirded out, probably because I wasn't used to the storytelling and the genre and Haruki Murakami. But I did get to make a reflective essay almost as soon as I finished the book. I was that confused with the thoughts and the feels that I had when I was reading it. Although I should say that I didn't get so much to write my essay about what I understood about Japanese culture and society from a Philippine perspective as to just writing what I thought about everything with regards to the book. You could see a part of my essay here since I've already presented it to the class where I thought I made a complete ass of myself since the others' essays were more academic than mine. But to each his/her own, I guess, I write what I want.

I also got to read Tributary from the River of Time series by Lisa T. Bergren - finally. You might remember that I wanted some kind of ending  - a closure - when I read Torrent, the third book, but I also thought that extending the story will drag it. While I liked Tributary and it did some tone of finality in it, I didn't like it like the first three books.

I finished Every Other Day today. Yep, today and I am still riding the high that I felt while I was reading the book because I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. This is one of the books that is filed under Why didn't I read this before??? I really want a sequel and Jennifer Lynn Barnes said that she wrote it as a standalone but there may be a sequel sometime just like it had for Tattoo which she didn't have plan on having a sequel but apparently she did. I really, really wish for a sequel. Godric, the possibilities to the story! Okay, I'll stop.

In addition, some other books that have been hanging around for awhile had been devoured this week and all in all I'm satisfied.

THE BOOK I COMMIT TO READ THIS WEEK:

These are my TBRIC books for the week: Darkness Becomes Her by Kelly Keaton and Enchanted No More by Robin D. Owens which I got over a year ago. I'm gonna read them in-between reading the modern history of Japan, memorizing prefectures, and other things that I should be doing instead of staying at home doing nothing.

What's your fondest "I'm going to try a new recipe" memory?

  2. Yay! I'm glad you had a satisfying reading week, all in all :) I did get Every Other Day from NetGalley awhile back, but never read it [blushes]. I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Both books you have coming up look really interesting and I hope they prove to be good reads :)

Recipe memory? I rarely cook... but sometimes I get the urge to be creative without a recipe. One time I made a REALLY good lemon chicken pasta, with real lemons, mushrooms, broccoli, chicken and linguine noodles and lotsa pepper ;)
