A weekly meme about (mostly) books and reading.

The BTT question of the week is:
Lu asks
Do you have any pet that has a name inspired by your readings?
If not, what would you pick if you DID?
Do any of your friends have book-based names for their pets? (Or their children?)
Our family have had dogs since forever but I don't think we've ever given them names inspired by our readings. The names I remember are Brandy, Donkey, Candy, Whitey, Cali, Shandy etc. Currently my two dogs are named Jan Di from the Korean (version) TV series, Boys Over Flowers and Sookie from True Blood. I know True Blood is actually based on the Southern Vampire series but I haven't read it yet so it's technically not inspired by my readings.

I had a cat once - a kitten actually - and I named it Katniss from The Hunger Games. I was actually going to name it Chairman Meow from The Mortal Instruments or Grimalkin from The Iron Fey series but I found out it was a "she" so I settled for Katniss instead. Sadly, the kitten died.

Anyway, I don't think my friends have book-based names for their pets... actually they don't have pets. One friend has some stray cats going over to their house since her mother feeds them but I don't think they have names.

  1. Those names sound great - especially like Grimalkin. I might use that one day! Here's mine: Small Blonde Hippy

  5. Katniss and Sookie are pretty names for pets. I don't have any, but I would definitely name them after characters! :D
