TBR Intervention is a weekly challenge hosted by  April @ Books4Juliet, Dani @ Refracted Light and Ayanami @ Whatever You Can Still Betray

The goal of this challenge is to help each other (fellow readers and bloggers) manage our enormous and constantly growing TBR (To-Be-Read) List. The rules are simple and everyone is encouraged to participate. It does not force you to commit to more than what you can manage to read in a week or so, but participants are encouraged to read at least one book within a week. You are free to choose the book you want to read and commit to this challenge. You may post your entry every Saturday, at the frequency of your choice--EVERY WEEK or EVERY TWO WEEKS. However, we will sponsor this event regularly every Saturday.
Here are the rules:
1. Post the book(s) you committed to read in your last TBR Intervention post and tell us something about it. Did you finish it? Did you enjoy it or not? Post the link to your review (if you have one).
2. Post a book that you want to read and already own. Pick something that has been sitting on your shelf for too long now (6 months or longer). Commit to read the book in the next couple of days or week.
3. Grab the TBR Intervention Button and post it on your blog sidebar so you will be constantly reminded of the challenge, making it easier for you to commit. This will also encourage other readers/bloggers/visitors to join the challenge.
4. Add the link to your post in the Linky below, grab the button and make sure to visit the other blogs. Comment, encourage, and spread the love to our fellow readers.

THE BOOK(S) I COMMITTED TO READ:

Eleganta

by Denny Swartzlander
in my pile since March 2011

Solid
the first book in the Solid series
by Shelley Workinger
in my pile since June 2011

---
Uhm... Yeah. I would put up my review of Solid later this week when I'm settled back again in the city. As for Eleganta... well, the descriptions were too long. Don't get me wrong, I like descriptions with a little more detail but this one was just too sparkly. Ah. can't really express it.

THE BOOK I COMMIT TO READ THIS WEEK:
Destiny's Path
the second book in the Warrior Princess series
by Frewin Jones
in my pile since September 2011

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Her destiny must be fulfilled . . .Branwen refuses to take orders from anyone—even the Shining Ones. The ancient gods have marked her as the one fated to save her country from the Saxons. But is she truly ready to be a leader? Then a messenger from the skies shows her a vision of a bleak and violent future, a future in which Branwen has abandoned her destiny, and those most dear to her suffer unspeakable horrors. There's a blurry line between good and evil, and those Branwen trusts the most are capable of the greatest betrayal. The Shining Ones have spoken. Will Branwen answer their call?

Oops, oops and triple oops.  I should've just put up this post last Saturday after I was done rambling with my Goodbye Fluffy Rabbit bit when I was at the internet shop. But I was  preoccupied with my paper AND ube (purple yam) jam therefore, simply, I forgot. Bad host.

Well, I'm putting this up now.

I love Frewin Jones' The Faerie Path series. I don't know if he'll continue that series since there's supposed to be a problem with something but I think there's a petition going around for a seventh book if only to know the epic conclusion of it all...

But, this week's TBRIC book is not from the Faerie Path series but from another series of the same author. Although I am not as fond of this one as that of Faerie Path still the adventures of Branwen are quite exciting. Plus, reading the words in a Scottish accent is so much fun.

  1. Happy New Year! =) I want an UBE JAM! You need to share LOL! Yum yum!

I haven't touched a book this holiday season, not after Christmas! I was so busy busy busy too. Don't worry, it's never too late to post your TBRIC since the link is open the entire week. I have to catch up with my reading this week... it's tough but I need to keep going. I hope this year would be an amazing one for all of us. Good luck with your books! =) XOXO!

  2. I haven't the faerie path series but I do have to say that I hope they do the seventh book with the epic finish! That would be such a let down if they didn't!

  3. Unfinished series make me cringe sooo bad... I hope they finish it! And meanwhile, I hope you'll enjoy the Princess Warrior... It looks good! It's like fantasy-historic, isn't it?

    Happy reading!
